I keep on bulldozing the obstacles / pain / misery because I simply do not have the luxury of time to ponder upon it & sob miserably .. I do cry, but hey a few seconds in the shower would do me good - rather than being a time bomb & explode suddenly, right?

So, the question is - what / why / how / where / when / who / which ... too many!!!
Where do I start, oh maybe the fact that I am 5 month & 3/4 pregnant which explains the comparison to the size of the bulldozer .. and I have NOT seen my gynae / doctor who is going to deliver the baby in HUKM yet? .. why? because of moolah / RM / bling bling ..

Next, my office - the people there simply despise me? Too strong a word - well, how would you feel if you are heavily pregnant & you have a baby of 1 yr + - among your English Dept colleague - you are the ONLY one who has 18 contact hours in a week with 340 students, with 2 different subjects that you have to share with other lecturers with one subject that has a FINAL EXAM, you have 3 days in which your class finishes at 7.20 PM then you have to rush fetching your baby from the nursery in a jammed packed AKLEH highway - just to reach home maybe at 9.30 - 10.00 PM THEN the next morning your class starts at 8.30 AM ... ??? That is just the tip of the iceberg ... there is simply lots & lots more ...

Other issues, too soon to talk about maternity leaves but hey, some people simply cannot resist the temptation to bring it up whenever they see my bloating tummy .. Not only I might be marking FINAL EXAM papers for 180 students of mine but I also need to key in their marks into the E-CITIE DURING my maternity leaves ... Yeay .. simply because my ever so wise English Dept colleagues just ignore the fact that I have told them so earlier .. And my MIL simply keep on repeating the super imposing suggestion that I should stay with her at Kota Damansara .. which means all the 4 of us, me, my new born baby, Athena & my hubby should relocate ourselves to her house .. instead of her, one person, solo relocate herself to my house in BTS .. stupendous, isn't it?

Sure wish I have MORE time to bable on but sorry folks, time's up .. see you when I see you.

Adios .. live life :)

When things go wrong ?

What do we do when things are not right? Sometimes we have this little voice in our head or some call it gut feelings that screams warning ... yet, we cannot actually put our finger on it ... Hmm some of the people I know, recently got caught up in these ugly situations ... I honestly feel for them - as I had been on that road before.

There is no handbook on surviving this, yet we can always turn to Allah the Almighty for strength and guidance. Families, friends and pets help too but the most important thing is you, yourself. Sad but true - I am sorry to say that if you are not strong, no one can help you to go through this. You need to do it for yourself, not for the kids or parents or siblings who depend on you. Because if you do it for others, you may hold them responsible if anything else went wrong - in time normally that happens.

Wish I have a magic wand that could impart what I had been through so that others can have some kind of 'shield' to survive it ... but hey, I am just a mortal who is also learning as I make mistakes again & again.

My prayers goes to all those out there who is going through one hell of a journey. Got caught up with life in general - my Dad's admittance to IJN - the check-ups, the emotional roller-coaster everytime he is admitted, not to mention the job that demands me to be more than just a lecturer - I am like the ALL-in-one solvent LOL I am supposed to be a SUPERWOMAN ... That explains why I had Alicia Keys Superwoman on full blast on my MP3 every morning on my way to work ... It is like a mantra to last me the whole day I guess...

Anyways, I have been trying to practice the three 'ALIF's ever since Ramadhan...The first one is 'ikhlas' - one should perform good deeds all the time regardless when no one is looking / judging. As it is done for Allah's blessing. The second one is 'ihsan' - one should do good deeds to those who mistreated / did bad things to you in the past. One should not seek for revenge - instead treat the evil-doers with respect and show compassion. The third one is 'ihram' - there are practices / actions allowed but one should try to withold from doing it in order to be a better person. Through Ramadhan - it was easy to follow since everyone around you is fasting ( they are at their best behaviour ) but try practicing it now - in Raya month... I am telling you, it is NOT easy at all. I supposed once Ramadhan is over, they simply went back to their own evil selves. The 'kiasu', selfish and mean Malaysians.

This morning, there were a few incidents in the LRT that make me feel like practicing some of the moves in the old arcade game Street Fighters ( back breaker, jack-knife ) to some of those evil, selfish and mean people. There was this lady who wears the headscarf ( mind you - this is one the signs that 'should' show that she is a devout Muslim ) who literally pushed & shoved her way into the train. I was standing there first when she shoved her way, but the moment she was in, she was like pissed I am there at that spot. She kept on nudging me and I can almost see the bubble on top of her head blaming me for standing there in 'her' spot. I felt like telling her that I searched & I could not find her name 'stamped' there on the spot. I endured the hostility till we reached the station of Titiwangsa. I went down at the station to board Monorail with a sigh of relief. But little did I know, there would be another episode of 'hell' on earth that morning. As I went to the escalator, there right in front of me was another lady who 'majestically' stand and refused to let others pass her on the right side of the escalator. I tried to overtake her as there was no one in front of her on the escalator, but she simply ignored me. I was caught / trapped by this selfish woman and those at my back was giving me a hard time as well. Well, be my guest, kick the bloody hag in front of me - I tried 'Excuse me' and it did not work .

I am not saying that I am perfect, but I do try NOT to make other people's life miserable because of me. Argh ... feel like putting on an all white contact lenses, dressed in a vampirish costume & scare the hell out of those irritating people out there. It must be the Halloween mood eh ...

Feel much better now ... Will try to be the old sweet me again once I am out of this 'DISTURBIA' state...hehehe

See ya.

Know your true friends

It is sad sometimes to see how someone can be so blind in judging / evaluating situations / friends / ppl. Life in general ...True friends are those who stand by you especially during your difficult moments - not just once, but most of the times and only want the best for you. Best means doing the right thing in life - so you will not regret it later in life.

True friends ensure that you will not be alone during festivities or holidays such as Eid ( Hari Raya Aidil Fitri ). True friends ensure that you have meals to eat when you are broke. True friends give you advise on the right thing that you should do. True friends disagree with you when you make bad decision to destroy your future. True friends do not ask for you to remember her during your happiest moments but when you come crying during your sad moments, true friends embrace you without any hesitation. True friends never question why you sometimes disappear for weeks without news when you are with loads money to spend and only to see your face again when you are broke or in trouble OR BOTH. True friends cry for you when you are sad unlike your 'fun-party-joy' crowd who worship you when you are rich but ignore you when you are broke / in trouble.

Yes, true friends can be annoying when they do not agree with you ALL the times but fake friends are never real in the first place. Fake friends do not care about you - if you destroy your life - that is YOUR life, nothing to do with them. But real friends care for you that they are willing to be hated in order to 'save' you from throwing your life away. Yes, true friends are willing to take that risk to ensure the best for you.

Think about it before it is TOO late.

Mad hamster?

We have heard about mad cow disease, rabies or hydrophobia - a disease of the nervous system of dogs and other animals, which can also cause a type of madness and death in humans who are bitten by a diseased animal ... But have you ever heard of a mad hamster disease?

The reason for me asking is that I have one very MAD hamster in my keeping...Her name is Emil... At first I thought it was a male but I was proven wrong ...Anyway, she simply hates anything that moves - be it your finger, or the wind moving some of the stuffs in her cage even when you pass through her cage on the way to the bathroom... She would squeal and shriek showing her teeth to the 'intruders'... This obviously lead to a practical joke being executed by my husband and me - just to entertain ourselves sometimes. We would be standing by her cage and blow some air directly to her, making her stand and starts to shriek with all her might.

This morning I was feeding them with sunflower seeds - I had a handful of the seeds in my palm when I lowered it into her food tub / pan. Next thing I know, I had a hamster clinging on my middle finger simply by the teeth. She was hanging in the air for a good 2 minutes before she finally let go - shrieking & squealing at the same time. I had to endure her weight & the pain by keeping still. Whenever I wriggle my fingers, she would bit harder in order to cling unto me. It was a funny scene but I was too shocked to see the funny side of it...

So back to my question - is it possible that I am now infected with a mad hamster disease? LOL I hope not.

Dealing with psychopath

I am sure everyone had their share in this ... At one point in life, at least , one would inevitably deal with one ... Well, sometimes we can choose to ignore the *toot* but sadly, there are times that we cannot run from them...

Basically, like any other red-hot blooded woman out there, I really wanted to strangle the *toot* and drain life slowly from the limp body but hey, let's face it - then I would be the one locked up in the jail or in the asylum...Either one, I won't be happy there ...

So what can a helpless yet determined woman like me do in cases like this ... Yupp, you guess it right - write a blog. Well at least I don't have to go to jail for that, hopefully.

Cheerio people ... may life be a better one for all of you out there.

Hugs

2nd task of photography

February had been a very busy month for me ... My students were preparing for their pantomime performances which was originally due on 28 & 29th February ... But, as usual things were postponed due to some issues raised by some Dr ... Anyway, the performance would be carried out on 15th March instead ... Hopefully, this time around the Dr won't be making any more issues to stop the event ...

At the moment, my students are having their semester break of 1 week. This give me the much needed rest and focus to complete my assignment ... And as a bonus, I am also able to update the blog :)

On the 1st of March, a friend of ours ( me & hubby ) had his engagement ceremony in Senawang. He had asked us to be the photographers of the day. Here are some of the photoes taken on the day itself. As that was my first attempt in using SB 600 for flash, there were some difficulties at first. But as I go along, I learnt a thing or two on the usage.

For Masri & Iza, congratulations :)

Another one of my favourite photoes

Well, actually it was meant to be put with the previous post but I haven't learn the skills of resizing back then ... hehehe

All right then, just a short one this time ...

Enjoy ...

Trial & Error

As promised, here is one of the photoes I took for the engagement ... A little bit of practice and a lot more of knowledge, perhaps I will be on my way to something great ...

Anyway, we were officially selected as the photographer for the upcoming wedding in April ... Actually, my husband is the one officially 'elected' since I am just his invisible sidekick ... That's the truth la Honey, you need not to sugar-coat it ... I am too 'well-versed' in this issue ... I am OK with it ... As long as I know it is my work and I took pride in my work ... If is is good for me, I need not other people's compliment or approval to appreciate a job well done by me. I am back - writing here ... trying to make sense of the world that evolves around me ... sometimes I succeed, most of the time I failed ... but life goes on ... and so should we ...

Well, today is the 9th January 2008 - tomorrow is Awal Muharram - Muslim's New Year ... A brand new year which we were supposed to receive a new book - a clean slate, a fresh start ... Hopefully this year would be better than last year ... hopefully, the world would be a better place than last year ... and hopes would live on ...and on.

On the eve of this new year, my sweet Che Tam passed on ... She's my hamster, one of the cutest and the most amicable :) ... I supposed she's in a better place now where she's no longer in pain and never ever runs out of 'pegaga' ( she simply loves this particular herb )... First it was my birthday on the 19th, followed by my husband's and today on the 27th of February, it is my colleague's (Suguna) birthday. I can feel the aura of festivities and celebration around me, being that this month is also the Chinese New Year's celebration.

So, can we throw our thinking caps and put on our party hats instead??? Nah, not a chance. Work is still work, no celebration or festivals can come in between. But still, having something to celebrate helps to ease the stress of work I guess.

By the way, just in case some of you might be wondering why did I leave the title blank for this post. Well, actually I am helping a student of mine preparing for her IELTS. She is supposed to provide the title after she read the post - as an exercise for her in the Reading section for IELTS.

So that's it folks for this short post; as I wouldn't want to scare her off with a long post for her 1st trial.

All the best for this auspicious time of the year. May all your dreams and wishes come true.

Thank you for all those who wished my husband and I on our birthdays. Yesterday they had a grand ceremony at Titiwangsa to commensurate the event.

That's a celebration for the country but for me, personally - instead of any celebration I was doomed with a severe diarhoea that lasted for three days on the first week of a new year. And if that was not so bad, today I am having this blasted UTI - going to the toilet for so many times that I lost count at the first ten - and it was only morning. I had gobbled down a glass of cranberry juice - hoping that it would help but so far, no sign of that, yet! Gosh - what a beginning of a beautiful new year.

Hopefully, tomorrow would be a better day. But now, at 12.45 pm I realised why I felt so shitty this morning. My colleague at work aka my best friend, Jann just texted me on the phone - telling me that a student of ours had passed away. It was said that the deceased fell from her apartment. Jann is still at the hospital awaiting for the post mortem with the other Students' Affair officers from our university. What a sad thing because I knew the deceased personally. She was one of the brightest girl I have ever taught. She should not have gone this way - too soon, too young, too abrupt - I can barely accept the fact that she is no longer with us.The last time I saw her, she was still the fun & easy going bright girl I knew. I did not know that was the last time I would ever talk to her ... It is a tragedy to lose her so soon.

Syareena, my prayers are with you, Dear. Just to fulfil some of my social obligations to make this world a better place :)

In order to understand the issue better perhaps I should enclosed another 'clip' taken from this marvellous book. This particular chapter talks about the masculine and feminine cultures. It is said that in a highly 'masculine' culture, men are viewed as assertive, oriented to material success and strong. While women on the other hand, are viewed as modest, focused on the quality of life and tender. In a highly 'feminine' culture, both men and women are encouraged to be modest, oriented to maintaining a quality of life and tender. The ten countries with the highest masculinity score are Japan, Austria, Venezuela, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico,Ireland, Jamaica,Great Britain and Germany.

As mentioned in the book, masculine cultures emphasize success and socialise their people to be assertive, ambitious and competitive. members of masculine cultures are thus more likely to confront conflicts directly and to competitively fight out any differences; they are more likely to emphasize win-lose conflict strategies.

Feminine cultures emphasize the quality of life and socialise their people to be modest and to emphasize close interpersonal relationships. Members of feminine cultures are thus more likely to emphasize compromise and negotiation in resolving conflicts; they are more likely to seek win-win solutions.

Organisations can also be viewed in terms of masculinity or femininity. Masculine organisations emphasize competitiveness and aggresiveness. They focus on the bottom line and reward their workers on the basis of their contribution to the organisation. Feminine organisation are less competitive and less aggresive. They are more likely to emphasize worker satisfaction and reward their workers on the basis of need; those who have large families, for example, may get better raises than the single people, even if the singles have contributed more to the organisation.

culture and ethics

This is taken from a chapter in an Interpersonal Communication Book by DeVito ... I am sharing this to enlighten some issues on culture & ethics.

In his note, DeVito mentioned that women in Afghanistan under the Taliban rule, could not be educated or even go out in public without a male relative escort and when they do so, the women are required to cover their entire body in special garments.

For some of us, this can be considered as acceptable but to those who are not familiar with the culture may find it disturbing. As it is mentioned in the chapter, some practices would be judged unethical and even illegal in some countries. As shown throughout history - sacrificing virgins to the Gods, burning people who held different religious beliefs and sending children to fight wars are just some of the examples.

It is sad to note that even today, there are still practices which may be 'disturbing' to some, being performed or practised by certain cultures. Namely

bronco riding - a practice where a bull's testicles are tied so that it experiences so much pain that it bucks and tries to throw off the rider

clitoridectomy - whereby part or all of a young girl's clitoris is surgically removed so that she can never experience sexual intercourse without extreme pain, a practice designed to keep her a virgin until marriage

the belief and practice that a woman must be subservient to her husband's will

the practice of wearing fur - in some cases necessitating the killing of wild animals and in others raising animals so they can be killed when their pelts are worth the most money

So the argument here is - does anyone has the right to object to these practices as each culture has a right to its own practices and beliefs. Given your own beliefs about these issues and about cultural diversity in general, what ethical obligations do you have as a fellow citizen of earth.

It is a good exercise to start thinking about the cultural diversity that we have here in our own country. Perhaps we should view things in the lights of other culture to understand it better ourself.

( DeVito, Joseph A.(2004).The interpersonal communication book,Pearson Education, U.S.A )

what do you want?

A direct - straight forward question ... yet, we still fumble for the right answer. Why?

Is it because, we,ourselves do not know what we want in life? Or is it because there is simply too many things that we want? Or is it possible that we do not want anything? Or is it that the answer might be too ridiculous to fulfil?

Whatever the reason - yet, one still have to answer that dreadful question sometimes. Because you need to know what you want or else people simply cannot be bothered to play guessing-games all the time. Some of us are just unlucky enough to be born without the 'mind-reader' capability. Therefore, please communicate - there are 3 principal medium to choose from namely VERBAL/ORAL/SPOKEN; NON-VERBAL & WRITTEN COMMUNICATION. I could run a one-semester-long course on Technical & Communication English 1 that I am teaching at the university if you want but then I have to charge. But, the point is - communicate!

Good luck in getting your message across.

Better / Bitter Person

Well, there is this phrase that some of my closest family would use everytime we faces problems/hiccups/heartache in our life that simply would not go away. The phrase goes something like this - " Problems/troubles/ are challenges in our life and if we manage to overcome it, we would become a better person". I am not saying that it is wrong to say that. Sometimes or maybe most of the time - it is true. But there is also time when one just simply had enough AND simply cannot be bothered about it. Instead of becoming a better person, one would turn up to be a 'bitter' person. Bitter about life, bitter about people, and even bitter about themselves. Why? Because they simply had ENOUGH.

I cannot blame them sometimes. But not to say that it is a good move, neither. It is just that I can comprehend what they are going through. Think of it as a vacation - sometimes we desperately need one for our own good. So, be bitter ... but still, after sometime - trace back your steps. Take a deep breath and see the world with your newly found 'eyesight'.Hopefully this time around, the world that we see, is a much better one than before.

So, I would like to announce to the whole world - be bitter in order to become better ... later.

Holy Ramadhan

It's that time of the year again :) Ramadhan is here ... Only this time, we are fasting at a new building with new batch of students & staff.

This time around, at this new building - with the new environment and people - we are still adjusting ... Students are still not aware that the schedule has been changed to suit the fasting month. The staff here are still figuring out where to buy the food for 'buka puasa' and all ... Well, basically everyone is still adjusting in every sense of the word.

The working hours has been changed from 8.30 a.m - 5.45 p.m to 8.30 a.m to 5.00 p. for Monday till Thursday & 8.30 a.m till 4.30 p.m for Friday. Hopefully with this new schedule, we would be able to make it in time for ' buka puasa'. Today would be the first day to try it out ... we will see :)

To all my family, friends and all Muslims - Happy Fasting & May Allah bless us all.

Dearest Adil

This is dedicated to my dearest nephew :)

Dearest Adil,

Here are our prayers for you - in every single thing that you do, we pray that you would be protected from harm, sheltered from deceit, empowered by goodwill and hope and urged by enthusiasm & sheer will and all that you could be, would be all good and positive.

Life is a journey - so, just like any journey - it may be tiring sometimes, it might be fun sometimes, it might also be dangerous most of the time. Therefore, one cannot expect that life is a bed of roses - laid out for them - crystal clear of what you should do and what you should not. Sometimes it can get so confusing that right seems wrong and wrong seems so right. So, how do you cope? Look deep inside you and find the 'light' that would light your way and guide you to the right path.

We pray with all our might that you will be alright & protected from all harm. If you ever need us, we are just a heart beat away. You are never alone - you will always have us.

We love you Adil.

Take good care my dear nephew.

All of us in BTS

A bright star in heaven

A sad news to be shared - Ham Ham has left us yesterday.

Being the sweetheart she is, she looked as if she was sleeping soundly underneath her water bottle when I found her last night in her cage. The only thing that makes me sad is the fact that we didn't say our goodbye appropriately. That morning before we left for work, I saw her sleeping at the same spot. Thinking that I wouldn't want to disturb her slumber, we just left without saying goodbye. But I looked her way & silently said 'bye' in my heart as we were rushing to work. If only I knew that it would be the last time, I would have done it differently. But being the angel she is, I know she wouldn't want it the other way.

I pray that she is happy now wherever she may be - free of those warts on her back & that lump on her backside. She is as pretty as the day I brought her home from the petshop - or maybe even more :)

Take good care of yourself Hammy Hammy ... Eat well as I am sure there would be soyabeans and almonds - the most delicious ones especially for you. There will always be a special place in my heart for you. No more rehearsals ...

Generally, out of the 7 classes competing, I am proud to say that my 5-turned into 4 classes did quite well. One of the classes - DIM S1 (1) came out as the winner for first place, while the other 3 was somewhere between 4 to 6. They were disappointed for not winning the top three but I am quite pleased with their effort. They were so eager to please me, what a bunch of sweethearts ... I am quite touched to see their efforts ... I felt like a mother mothering all those 5 classes ... Gee, not only I have 21 kids at home - now I have like 120+ kids here :p I am very proud with all them :)

On the other hand, my health is improving - generally ... but for the past 2 days I have developed some kind of rashes on my neck. It is itchy & irritating - almost drive me crazy ... I have no idea what could have caused them ... It remains a mystery :p I do hope it would go as sudden as it appears though ... because I can't go around with these talcum powder+anti-histamine cream plastered to my neck for long. People might mistake me for being something else :p Pray that it will go away soon ...

As for the hamsterlets, they are doing great ... Hyperactive - as I can see them chasing after their mother for milk while the mother frantically ran & hide from them. They are growing quite fast ... Hmmm, soon I need to transfer them to another cage :p Yupp my house is turning into a zoo ... But I love it, wouldn't have it in any other way ...

Till later ... just remember that sometimes it is not the destination that really matters, it is the journey that counts.

A busy week :p

Today is the 11th of September 2006 - most likely, to those in US - today is a gloomy day as it is the anniversary of September Eleven ... the day the World Trade Centre became Ground Zero. Alfatihah to the Muslims who lost their lives in doing something that they believed in. And condolences to those who lost their lives to save others and those who were just at the wrong place, at the wrong time. May God bless their souls. May they rest in peace.

On the other hand, in the land of the livings, here in particular - in MIIT UNIKL - everyone would be having one hell of a busy week. It is the "Minggu Keusahawanan UNIKL" for most of the Degree Students and Activity Week for Diploma students especially those taking courses in English & Communication this semester.

I have 5 classes competing in Choral Speaking Competition among others. There are also Cultural Fest - where the students embark in other cultures from abroad in order to create a better understanding of cross-cultural communication. I just pray that things would go smoothly for everyone. I, for one, is still recovering from a terrible bronchitis infection. It had me coughing like a hag at night - sometimes I wonder if the movie industries would like to use my "voice+ cough-like-a hag" effects for their banshee.

Thank God it is not catching on any of my kids - or it would be hell broke lose for those 20 hamsters coughing & wheezing or an orange cat holding his tummy coughing like mad. :p My husband is doing well too, surprisingly :p It must be something that only aggravates me Hmmm scary ... But, the most important thing is I am doing much better now :) Thanks to those who pray for me & wish me well :)

Well, I better check on my scoresheet for the judges of that choral competition. Need to get it ready by today ... Till then, happy thoughts & love for a better world.

Goldie is a mom...again :)

My, my, my ... But, being Malaysians, who are known for their 'generousity' & 'on the fence' attitude - the complaints would just 'wither' away (wasted) in the hot yet humid weather of my country.

But - not me - I actually wrote 2 emails today to forward my complaint. One to the Touch & Go - Rangkaian Segar Sdn Bhd about their poor service in Titiwangsa STAR LRT Station. The other one goes to Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri & Hal Ehwal Pengguna - it's like Consumers Rights Association. And I am thinking of writing to STAR LRT afterwards ... I had to enter my class earlier or I would have done so.

The reason why I did those - is not to agitate those company or those government body... My major concern is to make things better for everyone - especially when those services are paid for. Value for money - instead in my case this morning, I paid money in advance just to create problems for myself :p Which should not be the way, in any case ...

I religiously reload my Touch & Go card to go to work & to travel using the public transport for the past 2 years. I have been happy with the service until recently. And to make matters worse, today's incident is not the first time it happened at the very same location. They simply ask for it I guess :p

Anyway, I do hope my letter would help to contribute to the well beings of the public in general & to the improvement of services rendered here in my country.

May God bless us all.

Life's hiccups

"A life is made up of a great number of small incidents and a small number of great ones" - one of Roald Dahl's famous words that I hold dearly to my heart. And at this moment, how enlightening I find these words...

A person that mean so much to me & my family is going through a rough time ... this is definitely 'one of the great ones'...It can be a life-changing incident if it goes on... I feel for her, deeply - not just because I have gone through similar experience few years back or the fact that she is one of the closest person to us - but because - she is one of those pure-hearted individuals who feel for others. And what she is going through at the moment, she truly does not deserve.

If I have a magic wand, I would do everything in my power to make things better for her. Alas, I am but a human being who posses no such magical power. But I can assure her that she can have my shoulders to cry on at any given time & place. Our prayers & love are at your perusal my dear ...

We love you so much & no matter what the outcomes may be, you would never lose us - as we are part of you as you are part of us ...

May God be your strength when you need to trudge through this misery and we will always walk by your side to keep you company.

Hugs
your family at bts

nosey parker found in d new office

*sigh*
Just when I thought I have seen it all - the inhumanity, the stupidity & some of the ugliest scenes created by humankind, today I am in for a surprise ...

I have been waiting for my parcel from ebay msia by PosLaju - it was supposed to arrive yesterday. Just before I went for lunch today, I checked with the receptionist at the Ground Floor who told me that my parcel has been picked up by a representative from my former IIM's so-called office boy (Din). And it was taken yesterday afternoon - and it was rather ridiculous for him to miss my level ( which is level 20 ) since he is residing in level 25. But being a nice person, I gave him the benefit of a doubt.

Later, after lunch I tried calling for Din to ask for the parcel. I couldnt find his extension no. ( it's a new office so we are still getting used to it, as it is ). Then my husband came to my workstation with a parcel in his hand. He said he met Din at level 30 as he had some job to do there & Din passed him the parcel. The parcel was in a very bad condition as if it had been travelling halfway across the globe - which is impossible as it is posted from Port Klang. Then I discovered that it was torn & stapled back as if to cover the 'crime' done to it. It was so shabbily done that even a kid could know it was tampered with earlier.

So I wrote a complaint & send it to the lobby. Right after that, my HR officer called & said that she wanted to expalin to me what happened to my parcel. She said my parcel was somehow being mixed up with other letters & stuffs for this person in Level 27. That person was expecting something from MSI - another institution in our university (which is in Kulim, Kedah ), so what happened was - she simply tear the envelope thinking that it was for her from MSI. And that's it - no apology, not even a note to say that she had made a mistake or even a gesture of picking up the bloody phone & call me - using the office's phone line. Instead, my HR officer is explaining this on her behalf. What a rude person - and she's in Level 27 where the officers & so-called big shots are stationed. Gosh ...

I just hope that oneday she would learn her lesson. They were not tranquillised or anything, they were shot cruelly.

What has become of us? Are we more savage than the animals themselves? How can the shooter himself sleep at night thinking that earlier that day, he had shot 13 innocent animals dead.

I am so upset that I bursted into tears the moment I finished reading the article. I can only utter my sincere prayers to all those unfortunate souls - and I mean the 13 dogs. I am sure they are now in Heaven being angel's pets.

As for those inhumane sickos, curses & scorns throughout your miserable lives.

I plead for all those who love animals - do take good care of your pets. Never allow any harm unto them. Don't let these kind of inhumane crimes occur in your area.

Be good to your animals, as without them, we are not human.

Hamsterlets all grown up :)

It has been quite some time since the previous post :p What can I say, I had the hectic & nerve wrecking Minggu UsahawanTekno and not forgetting, the Final Exam paper... which I had to prepare 2 sets for each subjects Bummer ... But hey, I survived !!! Heheheh

Just want to share the joy & pride of our home, the hamsterlets ... They are all grown up to cute & cuddly hamsters ... Blackie being the most adorable with her gorgeous fur & sweet face, Jacques Jacques Junior ( Triple J - that's what I call him ) sure live up to the name, Goldie a.k.a Doris is the friendliest - she would be the first to crawl up to your hand, Orangey a.k.a Boom Boom - fatso :p, Darth Maul grow up handsomely and finally the other white one - which I am having trouble to name her, she's a quiet one that kinda becomes one with the surroundings ... But all in all, they are a bunch of cute, cuddly, wuddly little angels who never fail to entertain us after a long hard day at work.

Oyen simply adores them. The moment they squeak, he would be by the side of the cage to ensure everyone is ok. Well, they are all my kids and I love them with all my heart. At times like this, even creating a simple blog can stress me out :( But hey, life goes on ... I m having a tough time at work, but then again I should be grateful as I still have a job to be stressed about :p

Anyway I was hoping that by having this blog I could somehow let off my suppressed feelings which I cant simply let out in real life ... As letting it out may result into me being casted away on a far far far away island where only the cannibals can be found there :p

Enough abt me ... the main casts for this blog are Oyen & Ham Ham. Let me introduce them ... Oyen is actually my cute, hyperactive and very independent cat. Named as Oren Ishii due to the simple fact that he is a little bit brutal & emotionless as Oren Ishii in Kill Bill. Those who watched the movie might understand this better as it is quite difficult to express the coldness of Oren Ishii. Oyen is also named because of his bright spotty orange coat. Worry not as I will post his pic as soon as possible ... Oyen is responsible in entertaining guests who visit our home with his acrobatics moves.

Now, Ham Ham on the other hand is an opal pearl dwarf hamster. She is off white in colour with a streak of grey on her head. In contrast to Oyen, she is a very well-mannered and gentle girl. She will keep to herself unless you called out for her. How do you do that? Simply reach out to her and she will gladly climb unto your hand. Ham Ham is responsible in monitoring the quality of air of our house. As her sense of smell is very strong, she would warn us of decaying food or things that should be washed as soon as possible :p

So there you go ... a brief introduction to my family ...

Next blog - pics of them both!

Take care
